Welcome to the Bonair Owners Club UK!

Hello!

Welcome to a new camping year. I hope you all had a good Christmas and the New Year has been good so far. It will soon be time to open up the units and look to see how they have fared over the winter, as they are another year older too.

To start with, we have decided to go back to Blackmore at Malvern Worcestershire for this year's meeting and are looking to go the weekend of the 9th July (Friday) to the 11th (Sunday) this was the same weekend we went last year and we had a good turn out.

I'm hoping we will be able to attend as I'm waiting to have an operation on my back and as I'm on the urgent list it can be any time up 'til June, so hopefully I will be ok by then.

The last year has seen more new members join the club, and Gordon has added a forum to the web site for people to share their problems and answers. This has had a good response so far, and if you have not looked at the site lately why not have a look - it is interesting to see the problems and solutions discovered by other people.

At last years meeting we had David Reed turn up with his BA650. It is a nice little unit (see the pics on the web site). We also had a visit from Don Walker (still 100% attendance), and Brenda & David Whipp came along to see us as we weren't that far from them (although they were unable to bring their units) it was still nice to see them.

We also had a singsong with the girl guides in the next field on the Saturday night get together. We sang the big hits "Ging Gang Goolie", "Camp Fires Burning" and "Kumbaya" - a good time was had by all despite being smothered by their camp fire!!

The new members to join the club in the last year are as follows:

  • Stephen & Janet McKenna from Lincoln and they have a BA850 (1981)
  • Mr & Mrs Homer from Birmingham and they have a BA700
  • Maurice & Alison Smith from Derbyshire and they have a BA850 (1981)
  • Alan & Tracey Muttitt from Coventry and they have a BA100 (?)

A warm welcome to them from the rest of us in the club and we hope to see them at the rally at Blackmore. The booking for this is direct to the site, the phone number is 01684 310280 no calls after 8pm (also please inform them you are with the Bonair group and they will try to keep us all together).

Was anyone camping over the recent snowy period? It brings back memories of one of our first camping outings many moons ago at Easter in Norfolk. It snowed continually and Sandra not only refused to wash for the whole weekend as it would mean removing layers of clothes, but she even went to bed fully clothed. The kids loved it but Sandra wanted to go home -coward!! This was in our old Raclet trailer tent (4 berth with 6 of us in it!), which made us want to move up in the world -to a BA 1200, with the added advantage of a heater. Since moving to the BA 1900 we still hanker after our old BA1200-so much more space.

Please let us know if you've sold your unit or no longer wish to receive the newsletter as we can save costs this way. Also any donations of stamps etc are always gratefully received.

Hope to see you all soon!

Andrew and Sandra Everest.
